We Can Come To You!

We are so excited for the invitations we have received to come and teach some of your classes about dental hygiene. Thank you to those who have invited us! We look forward to coming to teach your classes how to brush, to let them practice on our fun stuffed animals with big teeth, and to bring them all goodie bags with books about going to the dentist and new toothbrushes.

Field Trips

It’s that time of year again when the schools start teaching about hygiene and the importance of good dental health. We love to open our office for field trips. This is a good opportunity to help your children learn about going to the dentist and how to brush and care for their teeth. February is National Dental Health month and we are excited to be able to spread the news about good oral hygiene. Thanks to all of those who have brought their classes in and to all of those who have already scheduled their field trip. For those who have been to our office for a field trip – we would love to hear your comments…so please feel free to post a comment. Thanks again!

Baby Hank

We are happy to announce the birth of Hank Scholzen. We are so excited to have Hank here! So don’t be surprised if you see this new addition floating around the office the next couple of months with me…Laurie…the doctor’s wife…and office manager.

Cash for Candy

We had such a great turn out for our Second Annual Cash for Candy event! Thanks to all of those who came to trade their candy in for cash and to help raise money for The Dixie Care & Share through Feed the Planet. Because your kids traded in their candy – we filled an entire bed of a truck worth of stuff to donate! Hopefully your kids will enjoy the cash they received to help encourage them to eat less candy and brush!

Nick…Our Paramedic

001 240x300 Nick...Our Paramedic

We are fortunate to have Nick (our very own Firefighter/Paramedic) on our team. We’re all about safety. Hurricane Valley Fire sponsered a fire safety day for a couple of students from each grade. They received lunch and were able to listen, ask questions and see what a day in the life of a firefighter entails. Seeing a fire hose in action is a favorite among children. This lucky little guy was able to experience that along with Nick right behind him. They made the front page of the paper. So bring your newspapers in if you want famous Nick’s autograph.

Color Your Ghost

Halloween is almost here and we are filling our walls with the ghosts that are colored by you…the kids. So bring your coloring page in before November 1st and we will give you a free 2 minute light up toothbrush.

CPR Recertification

The team spent the day working on CPR re-certification and overall emergency training. All of the staff is required to maintain current CPR training at all times and Dr. Scholzen is always up to date with his PALS certification.

The Doctor’s Kid

Yes, that’s Dr. Scholzen in his t-shirt and shorts…and yes that child is wearing a swim suit for his cleaning and exam. Truth be told – this little cleaning is a miracle in the making – I had to have a picture. Our little boy simply will not let us brush his teeth. I’m not sure why today was any different, but it was. Funny – that’s how kids are – sometimes they cooperate and sometimes they don’t. We practically have WWF wrestling at our house every evening trying to brush teeth. This little man is a fighter and sometimes we pick our battles and let the tooth brushing slide - not the best choice – which is why even the doctor’s kid has had cavities and has to be sedated to have them fixed.

Team Training

Team training is an important part of what we do at Children’s Dental. Our team meetings are geared towards constantly trying to help the flow of the office run smoother, better understanding the needs and nature of children, and in depth dental training by Dr. Scholzen. It’s important to us that all those who work with us, understand the little mouths they see every day and how to properly take care of them. We were excited to spend the weekend in Las Vegas as a team…learning and discussing how we can better serve you and your children.

Children’s Dental Office Video

We had Yellowbook.com create a video for us and we wanted to show it to you. It does have our old website address on it, but we wanted to give you a look into what our office is like.

Make sure you remember that our new website address is www.childrensdentalstgeorge.com.
